Volleyball: Team Set for WVU Classic

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The West Virginia University volleyball team welcomes four visiting schools to the 2005 West Virginia Classic on Friday, Sept. 16, and Saturday, Sept. 17, at the WVU Coliseum.
The two-day tournament will include West Virginia (7-3), Buffalo (5-4), Duquesne (6-3) and Memphis (8-3).
"We're excited to be home for the first time this season," head coach Veronica Hammersmith said. "The competition should be great with the teams coming in."
The Mountaineers begin play on Friday, Sept. 16, at 7:30 p.m. against Buffalo. West Virginia opens play at Noon on Saturday, Sept. 17, versus Duquesne before taking on Memphis in the final game of the tournament at 8 p.m.
The Mountaineers enter the weekend looking for their fourth straight victory, after going 2-1 at the Blue-Green Tournament in Charleston, W.Va., on Sept. 9-10, and then defeating Robert Morris on Tuesday, Sept. 13.

Friday, September 16
5 p.m. - Memphis vs. Duquesne
7:30 p.m. - West Virginia vs. Buffalo
Saturday, September 17
Noon - West Virginia vs. Duquesne
2:30 p.m. - Buffalo vs. Memphis
5:30 p.m. - Duquesne vs. Buffalo
8 p.m. - West Virginia vs. Memphis
